Roselane PotteryRoselane Pottery was founded in 1938 by William and Georgia Fields, working out of their Pasadena home. The company at first produced figurines for the local florist trade, but by the early forties their attractive figurines were finding a retail market and a factory was built on Main Street in Pasadena.Early on the main Roselane Pottery products were small items like candle holders and wall pockets plus modernistic animals on wooden bases. The Chinese Modern line of the forties included vases, bowls, figurines, wall pockets and such in various high-gloss colors and combinations. Roselane manufactured a very popular "Aqua Marine" line from 1945 to 1952 featuring stylized fish against an aqua or pink background. William Fields designed a very modern line of abstract animals on walnut bases in the mid fifties. These were not all that popular with gift buyers but are very popular with Roselane Pottery collectors today. Construction of the 210 freeway forced Roselane to relocate to Baldwin Park in 1968 where it remained until 1974. William Fields died in 1973 and the company was sold to Prather Engineering who moved operations to Long Beach. roselane Pottery was closed pernmanently in 1977.
